Staff Member: Percy Lingen
My name is Percy Lingen and I am blessed to be the new principal at the School of St. Philip. I was looking for opportunities in this area and began my search on the Diocese of New Ulm website. I found the principal opening and I felt a call to pursue this position. I am so glad that I did. God has brought me to this place and with his guidance we will continue the wonderful tradition that is the School of St. Philip.
My husband, Steven, and I have two grown children and four grandchildren. We enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. We all enjoy boating and fishing, gardening, and indoor and outdoor games. I am an avid baker and like to try new recipes or creating my own. My family are willing taste testers and have learned to give very good feedback. I also enjoy music, singing and craft projects.
I have over 25 years of experience in education in both public and private schools. Most recently, I was the principal at St. Raphael’s School in Springfield, MN. I had some health issues that needed attention and so sadly left that school. Since then, I have been working each year as a seasonal employee for BIC. I was part of the shipping team where I solved problems to make sure that orders were shipped out on time and correctly. I enjoyed this very much, as it was a challenge and used my problem-solving skills.
If you see me out and about or my red Toyota at school or church, please feel free to stop and introduce yourself. I am anxious to get to know all of you and I look forward to serving the families of the School of St. Philip and the Shepherd of Souls faith community.
