“Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” -Mark 10:9
The Sacrament of Marriage is an important milestone in the lives of many people. The Shepherd of Souls Area Faith Community welcomes members of our parishes to schedule their wedding date and begin their marriage preparation. Marriage preparation takes a minimum of six months, and couples are strongly encouraged to contact the parish office 9-12 months before their chosen wedding date.
To check the availability of a date, please contact one of the priests. A wedding date cannot be reserved until a couple has spoken to a priest.
An initial meeting with the wedding couple and a priest should be scheduled at a minimum of 6 months in advance of the wedding date. It is recommended to schedule this meeting 9-12 months in advance to allow enough time for marriage preparation. At the initial meeting, the couple will also have the steps of marriage preparation explained and discussed in detail.
Couples who live out of the area, but are registered members of a parish in the Shepherd of Souls Area Faith Community, should contact one of the priests to discuss marriage preparation options.
